You do not need to drink half your weight in water a day, that is just incorrect, and most likely impossible.

Eight glasses a day of water (8 oz each) is the most I have ever heard for necessary water drinking, even that is probably a lot.

drinking water is good for you it flushes out your system. Only thing is if your body is saying no more water than dont over do it. but if you feel like you need more water drink it, if you body is saying no more another words you forcing yourself to drink it, then dont do that. You can die from overdosing on water, so you dont want to force it
