Although the Monroe Municipal Utilities Authority has worked to address the low pressure problems by putting up a new pump house in the area, the MUA and area residents think the true root of the problem has trickled down to lawn sprinkler use and high demand on the water supply attributed to residential developments.
“We’ve had problems with water rationing for years. Every year we’re on water rationing, so obviously there is some kind of problem,” said Creel, who has lived in the Hunter Woods neighborhood for six years.
Jerry Moore, MUA executive director, admits there has been a pressure problem on days with draught conditions.
