I was browsing the latest Plano City Council agenda of June 13 and came across this interesting article: An expenditure of $ 70,939 to install 11 special "antifreeze" drinking fountains throughout the park system of the city .

Douglas Green, Park Operations Superintendent, states why the city decided to buy the fountains in a two-page note.

In short, the city said park users have long asked for all seasons water fountains along the trails Plano. Plano, in response tried to modernize its existing fountains with equipment frost two years ago.But modernization has caused damage and apparently led to costly repairs, and if the city decided to replace its 11 fountains parks with about 130 new drinking stations that can withstand cold weather.
